Richard Searcy was born on 17 Mar 1757 in Granville County, North Carolina. His parents were John Searcy Jr. and his wife Annis (MNU). Around 1778, he married Ann Lindsay, in Granville, North Carolina.[1][2]
Richard served as a Captain in the Revolutionary War. He was listed on the Roster of North Carolina Soldiers on 25 May 1778.[3]
In 1786, the Searcy's were still living in Granville County, North Carolina, in Oxford Township, as the NC Early Census shows.[4]
By 1800, the Searcy's had moved to Rutherford County, North Carolina.[5]They were still there in 1810,[6] and they lived there at least until 1820.[7]
By 1830, the Searcy's had moved to Kentucky, where Richard is listed as head of a household of 6 in Anderson County.[8]
Richard passed away on 19 Jun 1838 in Kentucky.[1] His will was probated on 9 Jul 1838 in Anderson County, Kentucky.[9]
