Biography

Almon Lewis Sellers was born on 31 July 1807 in Bolivia, Brunswick County, North Carolina, United States. [1] (Note various spellings in the records including Almon, Alman, and Almond.)

Almon married Prudence Robbins (or Robins). (The death record for son Joel Lewis Sellars indicates his mother's name was Robins). They lived in Pike County, Alabama, before moving to Texas.

The marriage was probably around 1829 based on the birth of their first child in 1830.

In the 1850 United States census, Alman Sellors (born about 1807 in North Carolina) is married to Prudence Sellors (born about 1808 in North Carolina). They were living in Pike county, Pike, Alabama, United States with their children: Edmond (born about 1830 in North Carolina), Mary (about 1833 in North Carolina), Christopher (about 1835 in North Carolina), Soloman (about 1838 in Alabama), Joel (about 1839 in Alabama), Sarah (about 1841 in Alabama), Elizabeth (about 1843 in Alabama) and John (about 1847 in Alabama).

A L Sellers or Almon L Sellers appears in the Texas Tax Assessment rolls for Coryell County, Texas in 1858.

In the 1860 United States census, A L Sellers (born about 1807 in North Carolina) is married to Prudence Sellers (born about 1808 in North Carolina). They were living in Coryell, Texas with their children: Christopher (born about 1830 in North Carolina), Solomon (about 1839 in Alabama), Joel (about 1841 in Alabama), Elizabeth (about 1846 in Alabama), John (about 1849 in Alabama) and Angeline (about 1853 in Alabama).

In the 1870 United States census, Almon S Sellars (born about 1809-1810 in North Carolina) is married to Prudence Sellars (born about 1810 in North Carolina). They were living in Texas, apparently with their oldest son Ed (born about 1830 in North Carolina) and his wife Margaret, and their youngest daughter Angeline (born 1853 in Alabama).

Almon died on 7 June 1879 in Jonesboro, Coryell County, Texas, United States. He was buried at Wood Cemetery in Jonesboro.

I do not think that our Mason Moseley has a middle initial of L. There is a Mason Lang Moseley who was born about 1807 and died in Alabama in 1856. Mason Moseley, husband of Levinia Shepperd died in Texas in 1870. If you have proof that his middle initial is L, I'm interested in seeng it. Thank you, Judy
