Research Notes
Notes from external profile
Note: Edward moved to Paddington, London, England around 1806/1807. He like his father was a builder and was heavily involved in the large scale housing development around Kensington, London, as the population of London exploded around the start of 1810 onwards.
Edward had 5 sons and 1 daughter (that his ggg grandson Jonathan Sewell knew of in 2009).
Jonathan Sewell, ggg grandson of Edward Sewell <jonathan_sewell @kerry-ingredients.co.uk> 6 Jan 2009 has a copy of Edward's will from 1828, which confirmed he was living in Lisson Grove at 13 Charles Street, Paddington, London, England. He wrote, "Francis Sewell was living or staying at that address, where Ann Sewell (later Hawkins) also lived when he was down as an elector in the 2 Knights of the Shire for Little Walsingham, thus an early postal vote....Edward married in St George Hanover Square, London, a church associated with society weddings,so Anne [Sewell Hawkins] came from a good background... I have household/business insurance documents for the Sewell family that show they were worth a bob or two in the 1820-1830s; they had property, stables, etc.."
