Sewall's wife is a Gateway Ancestor, as defined by the Magna Carta project, although her trail is not currently underway by the project. ~ Noland-165 10:50, 20 March 2016 (EDT)
Richard Sewall was born about 1585 in Coventry and died at Nuneaton on 12 Nov 1638. He was married to Mary Dugdale,[1] the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Swynfen) (Miller) Dugdale and older sister of Sir William Dugdale, Garter King of Arms.[2]
Mary’s grandfather, Arthur Swynfen, names his son-in-law John Dugdale and Mary Dugdale in his will dated 1 May 1599. John Dugdale, Mary’s father, refers to her as Mary Sewell, and names the first five children in his will and a codicil written 1 Jul 1624. He also says the marriage was "contrary to the advice of all her friends" and expresses dissatisfaction with provisions in Arthur Swynfen’s will.[1]
Richard and Mary (Dugdale) Sewall had nine children, all likely born in Warwickshire (near Coventry, Corley or Nuneaton). After Richard died on 12 Nov 1638 at Nuneaton, the widdow Mary (Dugdale) Sewall.married second in about Aug 1639 to Ralph Wright. This Ralph Wright was born about 1602 and was still living in Churchover, Warwickshire in 1656. [1]
Birth
Richard Sewall was born about 1585 in Coventry, Warwickshire, England based on his entrance to the Drapers Company in 1603 at age 18. [1]
Parents/Siblings
The Massachusetts and Maryland branches of the Seawall families are thought to have descended from the two sons of Henry Seawall (1544-1628) Mayor of Coventry, England. The Massachusetts branch stemming from Henry Sewall-85 (1576-1628) and the Maryland branch from Richard Sewall-94 (1585-1638).[1]
Y-DNA evidence shows that Henry and Richard are not brothers and belong to two unrelated families. There is a break in the biological chain and which (if either) of the two branches really carries the Y-DNA of Henry Seawall (1544-1628) Mayor of Coventry, England is unknown.[5]
The Inquisitions post mortem (I.P.M.) of Richard Sewall says he died at Coventry but depositions before the Barons and at Coventry in 1656 agree he died on 12 Nov 1638 at Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England. [1]

Yes, Rodney, you are exactly right! We will add all of the records first, as with the other profiles, and write a clear bio that addresses all the information that we find proof of. Then we will know what is known and unknown and can go from there.
A major rewrite of this profile conducted to address 1) relationships of Richard Sewall and Mary (Dugdale) Sewall; 2) child Henry Sewall's connection with the Dugdale line; and 3) Positively confirm that Mary (Sewall) Dudley is a child of these parents along with other missing details. These changes are primarily based on GRAVES (2007).
