Died aged 70 years, so born about 1842. See Lot note at Memorial # 26646927.

"Phenix-Girard // MR. W. SEWELL PASSES AWAY: FORMER PHENIX CITY MAN DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER IN COLUMBUS THIS MORNING. // Mr. Wesley SEWELL, a former resident of Phenix City, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Nan MORGAN, on Twenty-second street, Columbus, this morning at 4:30 o'clock, after an illness of about one year. // Mr. SEWELL was about 70 years of age, and was one of the best known citizens of Phenix City for a great many years. He is survived by two sons, Messrs. R. G., of Phenix City, and W. M. SEWELL, of Cooley, Ga., also two daughters survive him, Mrs. Alma McKINNEY, of Grapevine, Tex., and Mrs. MORGAN of Columbus. // The funeral will take place from the home of Mrs. MORGAN Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, the services to be conducted by Rev. W. M. BULLARD, and the remains will be interred in Pine Grove cemetery."

"FUNERAL OF MR. SEWELL // The funeral services over the remains of Mr. Wesley SEWELL, whose demise was chronicled in yesterday's Ledger, took place from the home of his daughter in Columbus this morning at 9 o'clock, the services being attended by a large number of the relatives and friends of the deceased gentleman and were impressively conducted by Elder W. M. BULLARD. The remains were interred in Pine Grove cemetery, the pallbearers being Messrs. J. L. MULLIN, Seab JONES, ___ BROOKS, J. D. HALLMARK, Henry ____ and James McFARLAND."
