Biography

Charles Vincent Stanley (Charlie) Sexton was born on January 31, 1915 at Hendon, London, England.[1]He was the only son of Vincent Sexton and Vera Eldridge, he had one older sister, Vera.

On June 14, 1939 Charlie married Louisa May (known as May) Hills at Romford.[2] They had four children and lived in Barking, Essex, first in Whiting Avenue and later in Sisley Road. From there they moved to Goodmayes where Charlie had a fish and chip shop.

In the 1960s Charlie sold his shop and bought another one in Bradwell, Norfolk, but he reduced his opening times to a few hours each week instead of opening all day as he had at the Goodmayes shop. Charlie and May lived above the shop in Bradwell and in the early years their youngest son was living with them.

After a time they bought a house in Belton. Soon after that May became ill and she died in 1980. Charlie managed well on his own but as he got older his younger daughter persuaded him to move up to Scotland to be near her. He moved to Longforgan Perthshire, and died in Dundee on August 16, 2007 at the age of 92.[3]

His Funeral took place on 29th Aug 2007.[4]
