To this union the following children were born: Gracey L Sexton, Robert C Sexton, Thomas N Sexton, Carl Sexton, John B. Sexton, and Irene Sexton. In the 1900 Collin, Texas census, Ira and Annie were living next door to Robert and Gillia McCarver on one side and John and Mary Lewis on the other. His brother, James, married Nora Lewis in 1898. His niece, Eula Sexton, married William T. McCarver, Robert's son, in 1920. Ira died Jan 16, 1957 and is buried in Fairmount Cemetery, Hollis, Harmon, Oklahoma.

His marriage license shows his wife as A.A. McCarver, all the census's show his wife's name as Annie M. except 1920 shows Ima.
