Biography

James Sexton was born about 1789 in Grayson, Virginia, United States, son of William Lemuel Sexton (1747 - 1830) and Leah Virginia (Free) Ferree (~1756 - 1839).

James married Mary Polly Rodgers (born in Kentucky, USA in 1804; died in Whitley, Kentucky in Jul 1849).[1]

James's other children were:

  1. Hulda Ford (Sexton) Whitman (1829 - 1910)
  2. Charlotte Sexton (1830 - 1880).

James was in the 1819, 1820, and 1821 Tax list for Whitley County, Kentucky.

James died in 1854 in Laurel, Kentucky aged ~65. James was mentioned on a memorial with a death date of 4 Jul 1854.[2]
