Census was taken 19 June 1860. Pg373 #1959 #1871 Sexton, Patrick, 35, M, Laborer, $100 value of personal property, born Ireland Sexton, Bridget, 25, F, born Ireland Sexton, Ella, 2, F, born Pennsyl Sexton, Lucy, 1, F, born IA Sexton, Margaret, 5months, F, born IA I believe he is a brother/cousin of William and Edward. He filed his Declaration of Intent on 10 June 1852 in Blair County Pennsylvania (Same day as Edward Sexton) and got his Naturalization on 3 Oct 1855 in Allegheny County PA. In the 1876 city directory (Red Wing) Patrick Sexton is listed as living on Bush near Main and his occupation teamster (horse/wagon driver). His headstone lists 1822 as birth year.I found bare mention of Patrick Sexton's death in the Sioux Falls Argus Leader from Friday, June 29, 1888. Here is what it says, 'Patrick Sexton, of Montrose, died at the residence of his son, T. W. Sexton, of this city, at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, in the 67th year of his age. Mr. Sexton was a sufferer from consumption. The funeral will be held at the Catholic church at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning.' In Saturday's paper, here is what it says, 'Patrick Sexton was burie d from the Catholic church at 10 o'clock this morning.' Consumption then was defined as 'a progressive wasting away of the body, esp. from pulmonary tuberculosis.' Here is what the secretary at Cathedral sent: 1. Patrick Sexton born in Ireland, died June 28, 1888 at 66 years old of Consumption. for cemetery is says R. 6 Block 16 section C 2. Bridget Sexton, born in Ireland, died October 30, 1988 at 67 years old of Cancer. Cemetery says: R. 6 Block 16, section C 3. John Sexton, doesn't have place of birth, died at age 20, died June 7, 1889 buried with his father. Under decease it says abscess brain. 4. Patrick H. Sexton, died October 21, 1920. The only other information under this one it says that he is buried at St. Michael's Cemetery.
While processing relationships in the gedcom some additional information was found which may be relevant.
