Biography

Charles Sexton Jr, son of Charles Sr, was born about 1719 in Huntington, Long Island, New York and died about 1812 in Shimoken, Pennsylvania. He married (1) Elizabeth Brush, his step sister, about 1744 (2) Margaret "Peggy" Stuart about 1745 in Louden, Virginia (3) Elizabeth Pelton, daughter of Benjamin Pelton, April 24 1775 in Hopewell, Hunterdon, New Jersey.[1]

He bought property adjacent to his father-in-law in Hopewell and set up a blacksmith business in 1775. That year the Revolutionary War began and he served in Captain Henry Phillips' Company and Capt Carle's Light Horse Brigade. In 1780 after the war was over he built a home on the property and sold it October 10 1791. In the Spring of 1792 he migrated with a New Jersey caravan to Shimoken, Pennsylvania where he died.[2][3]
