Jane Seymour was the daughter of Henry Seymour, Knt.,[1] of Marvel and Twyford, Hampshire, and Barbara Wolfe and the niece of Jane Seymour, third wife of King Henry VIII of England.[2][3] Her date and place of birth are unknown and are estimated.
Jane married John Rodney, Knt., of Rodney Stoke, Somerset, son of George Rodney and Elizabeth Kirton.[2] The date and place of their marriage are unknown and are estimated. They had sixteen or seventeen children, with at least four sons and three daughters surviving their father:[1][4][5]
Edward, Knt.,[2] married Francis Southwell and had issue;[6] he was the eldest surviving son and heir, born at Pilton 29 June 1590, died 25 May 1657[1]
Henry, drowned off the coast of Africa as a factor for a London merchant[1]
George,[2] married first Anna Lake, second to Sarah Cage[1]
William, Gent., born about 1610, died 1669, married Alice Caesar and had issue[2][1]
Elizabeth, wife of Paine Fisher, Esq., James Kirton, and Henry Norwood, Esq.[2][1]
Jane died in February 1634 and is buried in the aisle at Rodney Stoke, Somerset with her husband, who died 6 August 1612.[2] She left a will dated 1633.[1]
