http://www.threerivershms.com/third1.htm -- the uncited source from which the content of this page may have been copied -- records several spellings of his name: Schaeffer, Scheffer, Schafer. Neither of the two LNAB spellings on the profiles for him (i.e., Shaffer and Shafer) appears in these records; the German spelling would not have omitted the letter "c".
Could the Profile Manager please change the LNAB spelling on this profile to Schaeffer? This will allow both profiles to be merged to this spelling, to reduce the number of redirects.
Both profiles have the same parents, so there are no parent conflicts to prevent a merge.
Schaeffer is the better spelling, so that profile should be the merge destination.
