Biography
Dennis was born June 29, 1952, in Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas. He was the son of Alfred Shaffer and Lereta Hoskinson. Lereta and Alfred divorced. In 1955, Lereta married Harold Earl Van Vleck Sr., and the family moved to Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, where Dennis grew up.
Dennis served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Dennis was a physical therapist. He started his own physical therapy company, Tri-State Physical Therapy, in Texarkana, Texas. He also set up the Physical Therapy Department at St Michael's Hospital in Texarkana. Later he worked at the hospital in Hope, Arkansas.
Dennis passed away March 26, 2012, in Texarkana, Bowie County, Texas. He is buried in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, Wake Village, Bowie County, Texas.[1]
