Benjamin was born on 14 December 1860 in Montgomery, Ohio. He was the son of John Ebling Schaeffer and Lovina Miller.^[1][2]

Benjamin (age 58) married Mary M. Nelson on 5 January 1918 in Utah, Utah, United States.^[4]

Benjamin died at the age of 81 on 28 June 1942 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.^[5]
