Biography

26/8/1836. Alica Shand was born in Parkhill, New Machar and baptized Oct 2nd. The entry on birth record was initially written Elisha, then struck out and Alica inserted. Her parents were William Shand and his wife Jane.

She is shown in 1841 census as Alicia at Rothiebrisbane.

She married Adam Anderson 2 July 1857.

Her address then was Rothiebrisbane where her father was Overseer. (Grieve) Parents William Shand -Jane Hay Shand ms Alexander.

Adam was Gamekeeper at Delgaty/Delgatie Castle, Turriff. His parents William Anderson (Crofter) -Isobel ms Maitland.

In the 1861 census Alicia (age 24), Gamekeeper's Wife, was the wife of Adam Anderson in Mains Pitfour, Old Deer, Aberdeenshire.[1]
