Place: OH, Miami Co--Troy
Note: Locations differ as to this marriage though none are documented. The Cline Book gives the Shanks-Gerard marriage in PA. The Shanks book gives Troy, Montgomery Co, OH. Date is not documented in either book.
After their marriage, John and Elizabeth remained in the same neighborhood as the Clawsons, Gerards, Lenons, Buckles, and other Shanks families. They joined the Regular Predestinarian Baptist Church, and were listed as new members in the Honey Creek Baptist Church on 6 May 1820. (Burns, 9).
