Research Notes

Similar name and dates, but married to someone different Thomas E Sharp (1695-1758)

Thomas was born in 1720[8] in Ireland, the son of unknown parents. When he was in his late teens he married Jane McClelland, probably in Ireland, and they had nine known children, three sons and six daughters,[9] including a daughter named Elizabeth (1749-1829) who would marry William King.[10]
There is an alternate year of birth of 1700, source unknown.
About 1750 Thomas migrated from Ireland to Pennsylvania and about twenty years later moved south to the Holston River Valley, in present-day Washington County, south of Abingdon, Virginia.[11]
He married a second time, to Cynthia (Willoughbly), by whom he had one known child, a son named David. His fifth child was Elizabeth Sharp, born 1749, who married William B. King.
Thomas died in 1796 at 76 -96 years of age.
