Celia was born in North Carolina about 1810. She was the daughter of Adam Sharp and Mary Whitesides.
In 1834 Celia married Rudolphus Dodd[1] and together they were parents of eight children.
About 1845, they were part of a large group of related families who moved from North Carolina to Mississippi. They settled in Holmes, Mississippi ,and farmed with slave labor.
After her husband’s death in the 1850s, Celia and her children continued to work their farm.
In 1880 Celia was still living in Holmes, Mississippi, which is probably where she passed away sometime after 1880.
