Biography

Born on her mother's birthday. Married Theophilus McPheeters, 2 children: Ada M. and Frank Carl. Theophilus died in 1880, after 4 years of marriage, and she never remarried.

In 1908, her mother wrote the following in her memoir: "Matilda A. Sharp, our 4th daughter, was born May 7th in year 1856. She got a modest education. She lived with me till she was of age. She married Theopholis McPheeters. They mooved 3 miles north of Danville, Ind. Lived ... years. He took typhoid fever, died suddenly, left a daughter an son. the oldest, Ada, was 15 months old. They were too small to help keep house. So they mooved in to my house. Staid 8 years, till the children got large enough to keep house. She mooved back to her farm and cultivated it several years. Ada married a man by name of Howard Brady. They have 2 daughters, 1 son. Frank is single an 29 years old. They rent their farm an now live in Danville."
