Francis Sharp II Spouse: Elisabeth Comfort Frichett or Fitchett Father: Francis Sharp Mother: Ann Harris Birth: Between 1674 and 1675 Northampton Co., VA Death: Jan 17 1738 Isle of Wight Co., VA Residence: Virginia Colony
I found this note: "In an extensive research of this family, Bert Lavon Sharp, Emeritus Dean and Professor of the University of Florida in 1996, states that in 1710 the records of Bruton Parish Church located on Duke of Gloucester Street in Williamsburg indicate that Mrs. Francis Sharp (Comfort) died in that year. Francis later married Comfort's sister, Elizabeth."
and this note:
We know that Francis Sharpe of James City Co and later Surry Co.., Va, had 2 wives. There has been some questions of who and when.So
a) Joshua Fitchett will of 1709 names daughter Comfort Sharpe. Ester's will names children. b) Bruton and Middleton Parish Records, James City County had 2 entries: "1710 Died Rebeca Dryer ye wife of Hen. Dryer ye same day as ye wife of Franxcis Sharp ye 20th Nov." Mrs. Francis Sharpe died 20 Nov. 1710, leaving two children William and Elizabeth.....Elizabeth went on to marry Amos Garris III.
in appx 1717, Francis was charged by the court for "having fornication with late wife's sister". One of the children of this marriage was named Comfort, married to a King, and named in Francis Sharpe's will. -from By CHRIS TOMLIN February 21, 2005 at 12:45:54 found on https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/sharpe/827/
