Biography

Isaac Scharp was born on about 4 May 1712 in Palatinate, Pfalz, Bayern, Germany, the son of Isaac Aaron Scharp and Anna Elizabeth Cline. His 2 siblings were Johannes Aaron Ernst SchÄrp (a.k.a. Isaac immigrated to America with his two brothers on 16 September 1738 to Philadelphia on the Queen Elizabeth.[1][2][3][4][5] Some records show the family’s surname as “SCHERFF". At some point they changed the spelling of their surname to “Sharp”. He resided in East Hanover Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

"It is believed that Issac Sharp, 26 years of age, who immigrated from Palatines Germany Sept. 16, 1738 on the ship Queen Elizabeth in the Port of Philadelphia, to be the father of the Sharps who settled in Anderson Co, Claiborne Co. & Union Co. Isaac’s Will was filed in about 1767, but his actual death was on 8 March 1783 in Hanover, Lancaster County (now Lebanon County), Pennsylvania. Eugene L. Sharp of Spokane, Washington has a document from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania which shows his sons John and Henry being appointed as Administrators of his estate following his death.

He died in what was at the time Lancaster county, now Lebanon county, with a non-cemetery burial location.
