Spencer, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | ro-2 | he-1 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate Rumanian and basic Hebrew, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-2 for intermediate Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If there is a language you speak that is missing from our categories, I would be happy to add it. If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}

Thanks,

Karen

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Shirley Dalton, WikiTree Mentor

Spencer, hello and thank you for your participation.

I too have Jewish roots, but through my father's unknown father (probably residing in Karlsrhue, DE in 1906. I do not know what his surname is, but through the Genetic Genealogy Project of Wikitree, I will soon enough know more than I do now. The Behrens lines aren't known to me yet. But my 3rd and 4th cousins are Bermans, whose roots were in Lithuania, now Belarus in the 18- & 1900s. This family name in two related families is now living in the US. Two of the 3 I've met died in the last year. I and my sons are alive because my gm Anna Berg (a German) immigrated in 1907 to New Haven where an aunt lived then. Her ggm Rosa Baer brought her son, b. Jan 1907, to her and her American husband in 1911. We can share searches through Wikitree
