Biography

Birth:
Frank Sharpe was born on September 19, 1876,^[1] to Joseph Sharpe and Clara Brown while the family was living in Canterbury Square, Thorne, Yorkshire.^[2] The birth certificate states Joseph Sharpe, Waterman, is the father, and Clara Sharpe, formerly Baker[sic], is the mother.

1881 UK Census:
The 1881 Census shows 4 year old Frank Sharpe living with his 2 old siblings and 2 younger siblings, along with his mother in Thorne, Yorkshire.^[3]

1891 UK Census:
The 1891 census shows Frank has taken up an occupation as a Groom's Assistant. He would work with horses for many years afterwards. He is living with his younger sister, Eliza, and mother Clara.^[4]

Marriage 1:
Frank Sharpe married Sarah Rose Hanshaw on February 4th, 1901, in Pancras, London. ^[5] The marriage certificate shows Frank is a 24 year old Coachman living at 21 Fitzroy Street, London. He lists his father as Joseph Sharpe, a Sailor. Sarah is listed as 25 years old living at the same address, and showing her father as Charles Webb, Coachman.

1901 UK Census:
The 1901 Census shows Frank and Sarah in Chelsea living in the Mews. Frank is continuing his career as a Horse Groom. Their 9 month old child, Gladys, is also living with them.^[6]

1911 UK Census:
The 1911 Census shows the family still living in the Mews. An additional son has been born, Harry Sharpe. His wife Rose reports that their Frank and Rose's 11 year marriage has produced 2 children, both of whom are still living.^[7]

1939 UK Register:
The 1939 UK Register shows Frank living alone in the Mews in the City of Westminster, London. He states he was born on 19 September, 1876, and is currently widowed.^[1]

Marriage 2:
Frank Sharpe married Margaret Hanlon in early 1942 in Pancras, London. ^[8]

Death:
Frank's death and administration of his estate is recorded as: SHARPE Frank of 28 Clabon Mews London S.W.1 died 3 January 1955 Administration London 19 February to Margaret Sharpe Widow.^[9]
