In the name of God amen, of Thomas Sharp of Cecil County and the state of Maryland being indisposed in body and sound and deposing mind, memory & understanding being desirous to settle my worldly affairs to this end I do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, viz (bullets added for emphasis to show children)
First and foremost my debts and funeral charges be paid and
I give and bequeath to my son William of NC 3 pounds but look on him as indebted to my estate as ? bond of 65 pounds with the interest thereon
also I give and bequeath to my son John Sharp of NC 15 pounds specie
also I give and bequeath to my son James of N.C. 1 crown and
also to my son Joseph Sharpe of N.C. I give and bequeath 22 pounds all the above to be paid in 2 years after my decease.
Again I give and bequeath to my son Samuel Sharp now in Carolina a certain tract of land in Rutherford Co. in the State of NC to him his heirs executors and assigns
but if he the said Samuel Sharpe die without lawful issue the said land is to be equally divided between my sons and the children of my son Walter Sharpe deceased.
To my daughter Isabel Wallis of NC I give and bequeath a Negro Lucy,
to my daughter Sarah Reid a Negro girl Dina,
to my daughter Mary Plymoten a Negro Esther ?
later to these and each of them My three daughters above mentioned and with their heirs with their increase when they go to Carolina again.
I give to my beloved wife Mary Sharp one third of my personal estate and the Negro Nan and Stephen ? Jane and George, these 4 mentioned my wife to enjoy and prosper while she lives but at death they and their increase are to returned to be property of my four sons now at home with me Viz: James, Amos, David, Ebenezer to be equally divided among them.
Give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Sharpe now at home with me 100 pounds ? to be paid as follows 50 pound to be paid one year after my decease and the other 50 pounds one year later. Dau Elizabeth Sharp above named 1 good horse and saddle, one chest of drawers one bed and complete furniture, also 1 good milk cow.
Again I give and bequeath the Plantation in which I now live on containing 500 acres more or less and known by Sharpe Industry to my son Thomas Sharpe now home with me and to him and his heirs and assigns forever in f? simple provided that he, my son Thomas pay unto cash of my other sons that are minors, Amos, David & Ebenezer Sharp. One hundred fifty pounds to them and their heirs and assigns in case they die before age of 21 or marriage then the share of him dying I give surviving or survivors.
I also mention circumstances being that if my son Amos Sharp shall incline continuing school and obtained liberal education then Thomas is to pay for him the annual expenses for boarding, books to the amount of the 150 pounds mentioned
and lastly I do hear by constitute and appoint my beloved wife Mary Sharp and my son Thomas Sharp Executor and mention of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling former wills by me heretofore made and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament.

Thomas Sharpe, Jr died 11 Nov 1785 (aged 67) in Cecil County, Maryland, USA. He was buried in Sharp's Cemetery, Fair Hill, Cecil County, Maryland, [2].
William Sharpe(1742-1818), married Catherine Ruth Reese in 1768, move to NC, Rev War Captain [6] William Sharpe (1742–1818) [2].William SHARPE was born on 13 Dec 1742. He married Catherine Reese on 31 May 1768 in Rowan Co, NC. He died on 6 Jul 1818 in Iredell Co, NC, at age 75. He was buried in Iredell Co, NC (Snow Creek Methodist Church Cemetery).[3]Not only did William Sharpe serve as a soldier during the Revolution, but he also served in the Continental Congress from 1779-1782 and was a member of the State House of Representatives during those same years. He was a member of the State Congress from Rowan County in 1775. It is obvious the man enjoyed public service - while in Iredell County he was the county surveyor, assistant clerk of court, and a lawyer. In North Carolina's State Records Volume XVI, his name appears with four others who were being considered for the office of Governor of North Carolina. [3]William's map of the Fourth Creek Congregation in 1773 serves to document the 169 families of that area. He is also credited with laying out the original streets of Statesville, North Carolina - Broad and Center Streets. Sharpesburg was also named after him. His father-in-law, David Reese, was one of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence. [3]

Walter Sharpe (1746-1780), married Elizabeth Harden in 1775, Rev War Lt., moved to NC [6] Walter SHARPE was born on 5 Jan 1747. He married Elizabeth Harden, daughter of Robert Harden and Jane (--?--), on 26 Jan 1775. He died in 1779 in Iredell Co, NC (now Alexander County). [3]Walter Sharpe was a Lieutenant during the Revolution and while it is believed that he was killed in the Battle of Ramsours Mill, the actual place of death has yet to be determined. He and his wife had lived near Rocky Face Mountain, which later became part of Alexander County. [3]

Joseph Sharpe (1753-1842), married Jean Sloan in 1778, moved to NC [6] Joseph Sharpe (1753–1842) [2]. Joseph SHARPE was born on 22 Nov 1753. He married Jean Sloan, daughter of Archibald Sloan and Rebecca Guy, on 8 Jan 1778. He died on 15 Apr 1842 in Iredell Co, NC, at age 88. He was buried in Iredell Co, NC (Snow Creek Methodist Church Cemetery). [3]Joseph Sharpe also served during the Revolution and became a Captain. For his service, he received large grants of land in both Iredell County and Alexander County. The grants were for the use of his iron works on Rocky Creek. [3]
Sarah (Sharpe) Reid (1756-1834), married Capt John Reid, moved to NC [6] Sarah Sharpe Reid (1756–1834) [2] Sarah SHARPE was born. She married John Reid on 27 Sep 1782. She died in 1834 in Iredell Co, NC. She was buried in Lincoln Co, NC (Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery).[3]
