It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Kate by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.

Jordan Sharpton and Martha Fleming are not her parents. Jordan is my three great grandfather, and one of my mother's cousins has done extensive research on him. Nothing in her research lists a Katie as one of his children. His daughter Mary was born about 1826 in South Carolina. He did not move his family to Georgia until between 1826 and 1827, as his daughter Sarah was born in 1827 in Georgia.
Are you sure her birth name is Sharpton? I found the marriage record for Elbert B. Peavy, and it shows he married a Catherine Tucker. Also, the find a grave memorial has her name as Sarah Catherine Tucker Peavy. You might want to look at these records and see what you think.
