Shattuck-17 and Shattuck-16 do not represent the same person because: Different sexes. Probably one is wrong ID.

Shattuck-17 and Shattuck-459 appear to represent the same person because: Birth dates not clearly established, but same death dates/places. Spouse first name is Susanna, but disagreement and ambiguity over last name. Several children similar.

Anyone have documentation of a birth/bapt on May 3, 1628?

We can't prove his parents. Damaris (no maiden name) married a Shattuck but we don't know his 1st name. No record of marriage or bapts of any of Damaris's known children.

We don't have Susannah's maiden name.

Damaris and her son Samuel Shattuck (1620-1689) are shown in the APPENDIX of Lemuel Shattuck's book on William Shattuck (1621-1672) from Watertown because there is nothing proving that she is William's mother.

See them starting on page 361 http://tinyurl.com/ShattuckBook

We don't have a maiden name for Damaris or a first name for her husband.

This is not the William Shattuck, the shoemaker, who moved to New Jersey. His sad story starts on page 366 of the link above.

As far as I know, there is no evidence for the origins of William Shattuck. I believe that, lacking any sources for parents Samuel Shattuck and Damaris Sibley, they should be disconnected.

Also, I have found no evidence for wife Susanna's maiden name of Hayden. I believe her maiden name should be changed to Unknown.
