DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:

Shaw-2607 and Shaw-18292 appear to represent the same person because: My name is Stephen Sechriest and I propose a merge of Shaw-2607 and Shaw-18292. I believe they are the same person and is the father of Fred M. Shaw. My wife, Jessica Briggs Sechriest, is a descendant of George W. Shaw, the brother of James Harvey Shaw. My wife's great great grandfather, Frank Harold Shaw, lived with James and Harriet Shaw at their farm in Little Compton during his teenage years while his father, George W. Shaw was serving as a pastor in the Dakota Territory and Minnesota.

I also have 2 sources to add for Fred M. Shaw, Shaw-2606. They are:

  • "Massachusetts, Town Clerk, Vital and Town Records, 1626-2001," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q29G-4J69 : 18 February 2020), James H. Shaw in entry for Shaw, 23 Dec 1862: citing Birth, Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts, United States, Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth, Boston; FHL microfilm 007009312.
  • "Massachusetts Deaths, 1841-1915," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NWF6-996 : 6 April 2020), James H. Shaw in entry for Fred M. Shaw, 29 Dec 1903; citing Boston, Massachusetts, 112, State Archives, Boston; FHL microfilm 2,057,992.
