Biography

English actor, novelist, and playwright. He was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his role as Henry VIII in the drama film A Man for All Seasons (1966).

Shaw's other notable film roles were in The Royal Hunt of the Sun (1969), Young Winston (1972), The Sting (1973), Jaws (1975), Robin and Marian (1976), and Black Sunday (1977).


Robert was born in 1927 and died in 1978. He was born to Thomas Shaw and Doreen Avery. He was married three times and had 8 natural and 2 adopted children.

Played Quint in the iconic movie "Jaws". Starred with Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfus, Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, Carl Gottlieb, Jeffrey Kramer, Susan Backlinie. Writer Peter Benchley played a cameo role in the film as an Interviewer.
