He has been linked to the William B. Shaw who married Sarah Bullock in Dutchess Co., NY, but no proof that these were the same person has been found.[2]

Jones, but his birth was not recorded in the vital records of Bridgewater or North Bridgewater, MA, but the child is supported by the household of William Shaw Jr. in the 1790 federal census. A Find A Grave: Memorial #143821787 gives his birth date as 19 Aug. 1779 in New York, which is unlikely since his parents were still living in Bridgewater, MA, in 1779.
↑ William B. Shaw is consistently shown as being born in New York in the census records, but William and Deliverance Shaw (Jr.) were still living in Bridgewater, MA, in 1779 when their son William was supposedly born.
