This transcription of James Shaw's will states that his wife at the time was Sarah (Mary (Fenton) Shaw passed in 1790; so his wife at the time could have been Sarah Kirk Harding, " widow Harding" as was recounted in Dyer's famous diary of the time) and he named four sons: Samuel, James, Josuah and Ephraim and that James and Samuel were the executors of the will. He also mentioned his two daughters: Mary (Shaw) Bradshaw and Susannah (Shaw) Walker. Will was proven on 17 JUN 1801.[6]

James Shaw's estate passed probate in 1801 in Bucks, Pennsylvania, USA.[7]

Research Notes

Quakers did not use month names in their records. Quaker Dates before 3d month 1752 were based on the Julian Calendar in which month 1 was March. After 3d month 1752, dates correspond to the Gregorian Calendar. 2) Marriage decuments seem to be very hard to find which is a bit unusual for a Quaker family.
