Biography

Jeremiah was born in 1800. He passed away in 1883.

"Maternal ancestor of most of the Shaw families of Berrien and Lowndes counties. This editor has mistakenly suggested that she died almost eleven years prior to her husband, Jeremiah. However this error can be attributed to Jeremiah's purported death date of 1888, published in Huxford's Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia. It appears that the date was extracted from the tombstone of Jeremiah, which obscures the legibility of the 1883 date. Upon examination of the court documents, and execution of his will and settlement of his estate, it is clear that Jeremiah's accurate death date is 1883."
