James was born in 1883 in County Down, Ireland to James Shaw (Carter) and Mary Ann (Hamilton) Shaw. [1]
On 31 March 1901 the Shaw family lived in Hazelnut Street, Clifton (Belfast), County Antrim. James lived at 48 Upper Arthur St (18 Hazelnut St), Belfast.
He passed away in 1939, aged 56 and was buried at the Dundonald Cemetery, F5 375, on 16 December 1939. [4] [5]
