Joseph was born in Northowram on 28 December 1846 [1] & baptised Joseph Shaw, on 3 April 1847 Halifax, St. John the baptist, Yorkshire the son of John Shaw & Nancy.[2]
With brother & parents, John & Nancy in 1851, living in Northowram, Yorkshire. [3]
The marriage of Joseph Shaw & Sophia Morris was conducted on 9 November 1867, Halifax, St. John the Baptist, Yorkshire. [4]
With wife Sophia & children in 1881 living in Bradford Road, Hipperholme, Yorkshire. He worked as a silk dresser. [5]
