Frierson was born in 1868. [1][2] He is the son of James Edward Shaw and Marizee Sheffield. He married Mary Elizabeth Newton in 1896. [3] Her surname is also found in an application for social security benefits. [4] In 1900, the couple are enumerated on the federal census in Grenada, Mississippi. [5] Sometime prior to 1910, Frierson and his family moved to Yalobusha County, Mississippi. [6] In 1920, Frierson and his family are enumerated on the federal census in Coffeeville, Yalobusha County, Mississippi. [7] He passed away in 1947 and is buried in Coffeeville City Cemetery, Coffeeville, Mississippi. [8]
