Biography

Ruth Ann Shea was born on 9 August 1814 in New Brunswick, Middlesex, New Jersey, the daughter of Mr. Shea and Martha Ellen Hopkins. She married Levi Ketcham on 12 February 1844 in the same city. They had many children.

Ruth died on 25 May 1881 in Fillmore, Minnesota.

There are two Ruth Shays born in 1814. One was born in New Jersey and the other in New York. 1880 Census for our Ruth Shay gave New York as her birth place. Also Levi K. Sharp, her husband, was born near New Brunswick. That actually could be the eastern part of Hunterdon County, which could be seen as near New Brunswick, a major city.
