He was born on 15 Nov 1894 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA [1] [2] and was the son of Catherine (Collue, 1859–1933) and Maurice Sheehan (1852–1926).

Leonard William Sheehan first married on 30 June 1920 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA to Katherine Marie Doherty [3] (1900s-1980s).

Leonard William Sheehan married secondly about 1947 to Elsie Delores Miller (1908–1989).

He died on 23 Sep 1965 and was buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Denver County, Colorado, USA. [4] [5] [6]
