Biography

Thomas Shelton, son of James Shelton and Anne Hebert, was born about 1606.

Thomas is supposed to have settled first in Norfolk County, Virginia. A source for this is needed.

It is known he died in Maryland based on his will. No record has yet been located to confirm when he moved from Virginia to Maryland. Three Shelton men are listed in The Early Settlers of Maryland: an Index to names of immigrants...:[1]

  • Shelton, Anthony, Liber WC2, folio 79, 99; transported 1679
  • Shelton, Thomas, Liber WC5, folio 2; transported 1661
  • Shelton, Thomas, Liber WC10, folio 598; transported 1667

Either of the two Thomas Sheltons could refer to this Thomas since both were in Maryland some years before his death in 1684.
