A member from the Hundley branch had found sources which he emailed me showing that Mary Jane Shepard Haggard's parents were Augustine Shepard/Shepherd (Shepherd-1187) and Sarah Shelton (Shelton-1042). (He used those sources to apply for the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, which was approved on March 21st, 2014)
On page 34 of "The Wills of Amherst County, Virginia 1781-1865 By the Rev. Bailey Fulton Davis" Augustine Shepherd's will mentions wife Sarah, daughters Nancy Foster, Susannah, Sarah, and Henrietta (when of age or married) son Augustine, daughter Mary Haggard, Nancy Fosters' husband, and daughter Annis Woodson. The executors are "wife; son Augustine; son-in-law Jno Haggard; friend Hudson Martin."
I know I had posted below that my great grandmother, when she applied for the DAR, had put Captain Abraham Shepard as the father.
Thanks for any help or clarification on which of the 3 (David Watts Shepard, Augustine Shepard, or Abraham Shepard) may be her father...

I have a gold pin with Captain Abraham Shepard's name on it that belonged to my great grandmother, Joyce Thomson Buchanan.
She was a member of DAR, and when I looked at her DAR ancestors on the DAR website, Abraham Shepard is "said" to be the father of this Mary. I know DAR isn't proof of ancestry, but I was wondering if that has been proven wrong at some point, and that Mary's father really is David Watts Shepard. Thanks for any information!
