Helen and Charlie lived in Mineral, Virginia. She left him about 1933 and took the children, Anna and Charlie (CJ) to Washington DC where she ran a boarding house. The children did not like it there and after a year or so were taken to live with Charlie's relatives (Anna with Beulah and CJ with Roy). Sometime after 1939 she went to California and lived in Hollywood. Many of her personal pictures were of people and scenes there. Her son C.J. followed her there and lived with her for a time. [3]

She married George William Harlowe on June 18, 1946. [4]

Shepherd-5073 and Shepherd-1138 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents; no evidence that the parents had two daughters both named Helen. Both married a C. Chiles.
