Biography

Sarah Catherine SHEPPARD was born about May 1835 in Jackson County, Virginia (now West Virginia)[1] and died about March 1890 in “Place.[2].

She was the daughter of Henry S. SHEPPARD and Diana SMITH. [3] She is buried in “Place” [4]

Sarah Catherine SHEPPARD was married on 25 March 1857 in Wirt County, Virginia (now West Virginia) to Granville W. SIMS.[5]

Granville W. SIMS was born about January 1837 in Harrison County, Virginia (now West Virginia)[6] and died about 1868 in West Virginia.[7]. He was the son of Martin W. SIMS and Susannah WAGGONER. [8] He is buried in Sims Cemetery, Reedy, Roane County, West Virginia.[9]

Granville served in Company D of the 46th Virginia Calvary in the Confederate States of America. He was captured by the enemy in July 1863 and exchanged for a horse and bounty.

After the death of Granville W. SIMS, Sarah Catherine (SHEPPARD) SIMS married a second time on 16 September 1874 in Jackson County, West Virginia to Granville Washington WYATT.[10]

Granville Washington WYATT was born about 31 August 1841 in "Place"[11] and died on 8 March 1907 in Reedy, Roane County, West Virginia.[12] He was the son of Samuel WYATT and Louisa BUTCHER.[13] He is buried in Good Hope Cemetery, Reedy, Roane County, West Virginia.[14]
