Biography

Anne Sheppard was the daughter of Maj. Robert Sheppard of Surry Co. and Elizabeth Spencer. She first married Thomas Hart, son of Henry and Elizabeth Hart. He died before 10 Jun 1669. She secondly married William Newsom, between 10 Jun 1669 and 4 Jan 1669/70. After his death, she married George Foster, probably in late 1693.[1][2]

Jamestown is not in Surry County, VA. It is in James City County. Sheppard's land holdings were in Surry County. There is no such place as Jamestown, Surry, VA.
