Sir John Shireburne, High Sheriff & Mayor of York was born at of Aighton, Lancashire, England.

Attended Edward III during Normandy excursion & Siege of Calais, 1346.

That campaign included the Battle of Crecy. Wiley Online Library says that John Shirburn was in the English army with a retinue of 3 esquires and 3 archers. [1]

Sir John Shireburne, High Sheriff & Mayor of York died in 1356.
