Biography

John was the son of John Samuel and Submit (Boyd) Sherburne, baptized in adulthood in 1811 in Portsmouth, Rockingham, New Hampshire ^[1].
On 4 Sptember 1812 he married Mary Ann Hall (1795–1847), daughter of Elijah Hall and Elizabeth Stoodley, in Wakefield, Carroll, New Hampshire^[2]. Their children were:

Lieut. John Henry Sherburne 1815–1849

Mary Virginia (Sherburne) Glenn 1819–1882
