Richard was baptized 7 Aug 1614 in Great Horkesley, Essex so was likely born several weeks earlier. [1]He was the son of John Sherman and Grace Ravens. He passed away (likely) after 8 July 1662 [2] when the inventory of his mother's estate was taken in Watertown, Massachusetts. The inventory included a note about the division of her estate between her other 2 children (John Sherman and Elizabeth Rogers Smith) which said "In case their brother in England shall legally obtain against the estate, that they joyntly and equally do tender estate for satisfying the issue..."
TAG Vol 62 and NEHGR vol 51 say nothing further about Richard Sherman; he may have emigrated to America and then returned to England by the time of his mother's 1662 probate.
