Royce Sherman, 82 Owned heating company

Royce Sherman, owner of South Shore Heating Co. from 1948 until 1973, died of cancer Friday at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth. He was 82 and lived in the Sagamore Highland section of Bourne.

A native and longtime resident of Weymouth, Mr. Sherman was a member of the Weymouth Rotary Club, the Bourne-Sandwich Rotary Club and the Crescent Lodge of Odd Fellows in Weymouth.

He leaves his wife, Marguerite (Lincoln); two sons. Royce F. of Plymouth and David G. of South Yarmouth; three daughters, Priscilla A. Wood of East Weymouth, Carol M. Norris of Plymouth and Nancy F. Neff of Buzzards Bay, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday in Peck Funeral Home, East Weymouth. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery, East Weymouth.
