Biography

Her husband was the son of Jabez Sherman of Rochester, [Plymouth Co.,] Mass., who was a near relative of the distinguished Roger Sherman, signer of the Declaration. Mrs. Tabor, daughter of Martha, writes: "I have often heard my grandfather boast of his relationship to the "Connecticut shoe-maker"—he being also, a shoe-maker. Some peculiar traits of that eminent man, I always flattered myself, I could see in my father."
