Biography

1776 Project
Talbott Shipley performed Patriotic Service in Maryland in the American Revolution.

Talbott Griffith Shipley was born 17 September 1757 to George Shipley and Catherine (Ogg) Shipley in Howard, Maryland.

Talbott and Ruth Burgess married 17 June 1778 in Baltimore, Maryland. She died of typhoid that same year.[1]

Talbott and Rachel (Owings) Chew married 26 Aug 1779 in Baltimore, Maryland.[2][3][4]

Talbott passed away 13 March 1800 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He is buried in the Shipley Graveyard in Lisbon, Maryland.[5]

Talbot DID NOT have a middle name of Griffith. He had no middle name. On all of his official papers he was known as Talbot or Talbott Shipley.
