He gave land for the North Hollow Cemetery in Rochester. Member of Westminster, Vermont Militia in Azariah Wright's Co. His marriage to "Lois Wilcocks" in 1760 is recorded in Saybrook.

There is record of the marriage of Abraham Shipman and Anna Miller of Rockingham on Dec. 6, 1804 in the First Church of Rockingham. He was probably a nephew of Edmund.

Many Shipmans are buried in the Old East Cemetery in Westminster.
