Biography

Frances was the daughter of Thomas Shipp and Rachel Grant, she married Thomas Sullinger (1756-1795) Fanny Shipp is named as wife of Thomas Sullenger in the DAR Patriot Index. [1]

A child chose a guardian at the age of 14 or more. Guardians were appointed for children under 14. Fanny Ship is under age 14 when her father died. Richard Ship was appointed Guardian to Fanny Ship orphan of Thomas Ship deceased. Bond acknowledged. Source: Minute Book of Caroline County Virginia 1774-1781. Page 136 Court 13 Nov 1777.

Frances (Fanny) Shipp was born in Caroline County. She married first Thomas Sullinger and with him moved to Woodford County, Kentucky, where he died in 1795. She married secondly, in 1798 George Turpin.[2]

Will of Fanny Turpin. It was dated 11-15-1841 & recorded 2-28-1842 or 43 in Madison county Ky.[3]
