Elizabeth Betsey Shoemaker, daughter of Johannes Schumacker and Jane Cole, was born about 1928 or 1830 in Columbia county, New York.

In 1850 Elizabeth is recorded as being twenty years of age and living in the household of her father John Shoemaker in Potter, Yates county, New York. ^[1]

In 1860 Betsey Shoemaker is recorded as being thirty years of age and living in the household of her brother-in-law John H. De Friest. ^[2]

Some time after 1860 Elizabeth Betsey Shoemaker was wed to a Mr. Austin.

Elizabeth Shoemaker Austin, widowed, died on 26 April 1908 in Pine Grove, Van Buren county, Michigan. ^[3]
